chris mwebesa, ceo, nairobi stock exchange, has finally acted to avoid more complains about the 'black' nse website. a new site is being developed at this location and looks like it can go live anytime.
great improvement in layout, colour and content. It looks more professional and serious. the archival sections are a good enhancement, we can drill back to past uploads. however it still needs more enhancements to take its rightful role in investment and market information provision. this role has been taken over by stockskenya, eight.co.ke, nairobist, propertykenya , investinginafrica, jijini, stock-detective, hisanetafrica and such like emergents.
the price tickertape needs to be longer, slower and should stream live prices (eight.co.ke have done 15 minutes delay why not nse with 1 minute delay). investors need more historical prices, if possible, since nse started! the charting capabilities of the site need to be improved. listed companies' financial information need to be more comprehensive. the latest nse handbook and nse magazine should be availed online even if on subscription basis. then, we can move on to other demands.
kudos chris mwebesa, but ensure it is updated frequently and consistently. we look forward to the day we will follow live trading at the trading floor from the site. lastly, nse shouldn't wait for another five years to catch up with technology, it should adopt a continuous improvement approach to technological trends. mention my name to jimnah mbaru, tell him in such and such a place there exists one jp. that, will make my day.
