i have been tagged by kabinti to provide six weird things about myself. quite a brain racking exercise given that weird habits are relative. some of my habits may be normal to me but weird to others and vice versa. since there is no way of going round this one let me do the honorable thing.
the rules are:
the rules are:
- Post six weird facts/habits about yourself. These cannot be used against you later on.
- At the bottom name the six people you will tag next.
- Leave them a comment to let them know they’ve been tagged and to read your blog.
and weird we go:
- i find myself visiting the atm almost on a daily basis except sundays. mostly i go for relatively small amounts of 500 to 1,000 which at times make me visit an atm twice a day. my monthly statement spills over several pages of atm withdrawal worth 500-1000 shillings each. it was quite expensive till i moved to a monthly fixed charge account.
- i forget faces very first especially on first encounters. it is worse on ladies especially if they happen to change their hairstyles by the second encounter. matching names and correct faces after a short first encounter is a hard task, but my long-term memory is the best in the land. i can tell you what my final, form-four chemistry paper-one question was and what choices were there and which one i selected … juz kidding!
- during the hot season i find sleep most satisfying when i sleep upside down i.e. feet on the pillow at the head-side and vice versa. i think it’s also a good strategy to confuse any would be night stabbers. but i don’t do clock rotations like a guy i know, i feel for the lady who will bag this guy for life. at one time he is sleeping in a mid-night position, another time quarter to three, na kadhalika till he gets back to mid-night position and starts all over again until morning. whenever he visits, i make sure he uses the couch to instill some discipline though the strategy disturbs my sleep when i wake at night wondering ‘what’s that that fell’.
- the only time i am able to meditate nicely and plan mentally is while walking on the busy streets of the capital. this makes me miss a lot of hellos, appear snobbish to people who know me and give false grins to strangers depending on what my mind is cooking at the moment. makes me also walk swiftly and fast coupled with the thrill of overtaking smokers and zooming past ‘un-roadworthy’ pedestrians.
- though i normally pass off as a serious jamaa, my close pals find it hard to distinctly know when i am serious or when i am joking both in talk and deed. reminds me of a time when i was so sick in campus at night. i struggled to my best pal’s room with my deathbed wish in mind. when he saw the way i was walking unsteadily and mumbling, he rolled on the floor laughing. this was the best act i had ever pulled on him. it was so real. i struggled to explain to him that i needed urgent medical attention to no avail. the more i groaned in pain the more amusing i became to him. until i collapsed and he had to rush for the hall warden and ambulance, that’s when he realized it was for real. to him, this was the best classic joke he had ever seen me act.
- this one was during my primary days: the rules were from school, i perform a routine duty at home such as cattle feeding and milking, then wash (only the feet - shower was once a week), do homework, eat and lastly go to bed. i would often doze off during my forced evening prep session at home. whenever i did doze i usually sleep-walked before being forced to go to eat and get to bed. in one instance i walked to the bathroom armed with a jerry can full of paraffin and did a thorough brushing of my presumably dusty feet. luckily the rest were not asleep and they stopped my evening adventure before i could find more use of the remaining paraffin.
who gets tagged? let me see …

Interesting weird facts. Lol at the paraffin story. Aaaih Msee
Its been long since i was here. making a comeback soon.
@farmgal, highlighting the issue here somehow made me change that habit. i now plan for my weekly expenses and do one withdrawal per week. am liking the progress.
@shiroh, lol, can assure you am not that goofy nowadays, have grown up. but the story is usually used to silence me on our family get togethers. i can still recall the smell of paraffin that filled the house, may have been a little hireling of the not-holy one.
Where have you vanished to? I loved the weired stuff about you - too bad I cannot use it against you!!! Like sleeping upside down
